According to many social and political observers, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has been for a new wave in the body of Indian politics. But then, to do away with the decades-old stereo-typed machinery and its operational ways, would need a little more time.
Arvind Mohan, professor of economics at Lucknow University, said, “Rahul Gandhi made a serious effort.. To expect Gandhi to deliver 100 seats in UP is not the right way to look at it. Gandhi has made a good beginning for Congress……The party must sustain its effort for a while and Rahul Gandhi must make that investment. ….. With Gandhi, the Congress in UP is not in the negative…” (quoted from Gulf News, dated March 10, 2012).
Rahul Gandhi’s organized functioning would definitely work and his good management practices supported by his team mates would go a long way in view of the need to modernize the political functioning in the country, say political analysts.
Other political parties, just for being for the electoral system and eyeing only self-gains, have been critical about Rahul Gandhi and the so-called dynastic politics in the nation. But then, all of them seem to have failed to realize that none other than Rahul Gandhi has himself on every such occasions not only admitted that the existing political system has been bereft of what could be termed as ‘organizational democracy’, having both space and scope for appropriate people, without any tag.
And, he has been putting in all-out efforts to put a full stop to traditional structured mind-sets, as evident in his efforts for past number of years to inject new vibrancy in the frontal set-ups of the Congress.
