Continuing to invite the attention of the people regarding the bad state of affairs in Uttar Pradesh because of the misrule by the non-Congress parties, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had said that the people are fed up with the Mayawati rule. She has failed to deliver on the promises she gave to the people during 2007 Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi added while addressing public meetings in Gorakhpur and Azamgarh asd part of his Congress campaign for the recently held UP Assembly elections 2012. The Congress leader had asked the people ‘how long you will tolerate the misrule.’ Rahul Gandhi had pointed out that the non-Congress parties that have been alternatively ruling the state for the last twenty two years showered empty promises to garner their votes after coming to power they forgot about the promises and remained busy in sharing the spoils. “Funds sent by Congress (I)-led UPA government at the center for welfare and development schemes such as MNREGA were looted by Mayawati government” alleged Rahul Gandhi. The Congress MP also said that the poor to whom that money was addressed did not get anything. ‘The youth is without employment, people without health care, student without quality education and farmers are compelled to buy seeds and fertilizers in black market rather than on the subsidized rates announced by central government,’ further said Rahul Gandhi. Arguing that Mayawati has repeatedly failed to deliver on her promises, Rahul Gandhi requested the people to give a chance to Congress (I) to form government and assured them that Congress would transform the state into No. 1 position in the country.
