Alleging that BSP chief Mayawati for promoting politics based on caste identity, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi slammed her for ignoring the pains of Bunkars, artisans and workers. “She only bothered about a particular caste which comprise 10% of the people and ignored the rest of 90% of the population”, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a huge Congress gathering in Hardoi as part of his Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh.
“How there can be progress and development in the state when 90% of the people are ignored”, wondered Rahul Gandhi. Arguing that Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav worked only for their respective castes, Rahul Gandhi said that only Congress follows the policy of inclusive growth and works for the entire people without any discrimination. “Congress politics leaves none out and aims at the welfare and development of the entire people,” added the young Congress leader. Rahul Gandhi said that the Bunkars – traditional weavers – were facing unemployment and debt burden but Mayawati did not help them. However, when they approached the Congress-led central government, it came forward to provide a relief package and also introduced a Bunkars credit card to avail credit facilities from Banks, informed the Congress General Secretary. Highlighting that these non-Congress parties were not interested in the welfare of the entire people, Rahul Gandhi requested the people to support Congress in the state of Uttar Pradesh for bringing back development. Rahul Gandhi assured that a government of the poor, OBCs, minorities and aam admi by the Congress will work for development leaving no one out.
