Rahul Gandhi: BJP boasts about curbing corruption, but actually encourages it

Hitting hard against BJP for boasting about eradicating corruption, Congress (I) General Secretary RahulGandhi has said that the BJP has rather been encouraging corruption in the country. It has never been serious about ending graft from the country; it relishes double speak and practice hypocrisy, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a big Congress rally in Uttar Pradesh as part of his Congress campaign in the state.
“Its senior leader LK Advani took out a yatra against corruption across the country and all he could find was Babu Singh Kushwaha, the most corrupt in Mayawati government and took him to the BJP”, said the Congress MP from Amethi. Highlighting its misdeeds, Rahul Gandhi reminded the people that in the past BJP had gone to the extent of sharing power with Mayawati on six-monthly basis in the state.
Rahul Gandhi also said that in UP, BJP sought votes in the name of religion instead of on the basis of their performance. The people saw the true face of BJP when it blocked the passage of strong Lokpal Bill in the Parliament. There were scams and scandals in the BJP-led NDA government too, said the Congress General Secretary. BJP President Bangaru Laxxman was caught on camera taxing bribe, reminded Rahul Gandhi. “But BJP did not take any action against him. Does not this confirm that BJP encouraged corruption”, argued Rahul Gandhi.
