Rahul Gandhi at IIIT Amethi speaks about the importance of connecting India

Congress General Secretary and MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi while talking at the occasion of the convocation ceremony at IIT Amethi told that our mission should be to connect the unconnected India to the rest of the country.
“What has been happening in the past 20-30 years is that our country has been moving very fast and for the first time we don’t have any shortage of money. The connected India has been moving ahead; even when the world was facing economic crisis, this connected India was surging ahead. So we are generating enough money to create and to start seriously impacting the unconnected India and to start actively connecting it. And this is the mission that most of you are going to do” said Rahul Gandhi.
“When I talked about connected India, some of the speakers referred IT and how important IT is to connect India. But it is not just IT. Connecting India has multiple ways. It is IT, roads, electricity, health care and we should make sure that every unconnected person is connected to the Indian economy and the world economy” added the Congress MP.
“That is the job youngsters should do and in 20-30 years from today bulk of India will look like the large cities. So what is your role as IT practitioners? I asked many of your friends and most of them told that they would like to do jobs. What you do not realize is that while you are doing jobs, you are building the bridge that is going to connect these two Indias. Some of you would be more interested in your jobs and may not be much interested about what is happening in the country. But while you are doing your job, while developing software or any other IT products, while working on computers, without knowing it, you are building that bridge. There may be people who are taking special interest in the national affairs. And they may be doing works in that regard apart from their job.  Anyhow, you have already started the process of connecting our nation and I want to thank you for that,” commented Rahul Gandhi.
