Rahul Gandhi: Congress has noble intentions and so does not make blind promises

While leading the Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said during a huge public rally at Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh, that because of the fact that the intention of Congress is clear, it does not make hollow promises like other non-Congress parties. The Congress General Secretary said that the 22 years misrule of the non-Congress parties in U.P dragged the state backwards. Rahul Gandhi added that to bring back the lost glory of Uttar Pradesh, the state needs a Congress government that works for all caste, religion, aam aadmi, poor, minorities, dalits and adivasis.
“During the 2004 General elections while r non-Congress parties made huge list of promises, Congress had made only one promised – that a government of aam aadmi that works for poor, farmers, minorities, dalits and adivasis - and we delivered it, reminded Rahul Gandhi. “Congress wants all section of the people to take part in the process of development”.
Rubbishing BJP’s India Shining slogan Rahul Gandhi continued “But the BJP and NDA framed a slogan - India Shining. When asked from where they got this slogan their senior leader had said that they picked it from a TV advertisement. They would not have made this slogan, had they went to the poor, farmers and workers, talk to them and enquire about their issues. Without doing anything they believed blindly that India was shining. The intention of the Congress is pure and therefore do not make beeline of promises. The people with dubious intention only can make heap of promises”.
