Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi slammed the twenty two years of non-Congress rule in the state of Uttar Pradesh and said that the state slipped backwards because of their misrule. Rahul Gandhi added that either Mulayam Singh Yadav or Mayawati visited people to know their difficulties. Rahul Gandhi claimed it was Congress which helped the people of U.P whenever they faced any crisis.
“Where were these parties (SP and BSP) when the people required them? Where were they when your money was getting looted? Where were they when the Congress led UPA had sent funds under MNREGA?” asked Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi then asked the crowd “How many of you are farmers? When a number of people raised their hands Rahul Gandhi asked again “Do you remember Congress’s policy to waive off loans of the poor farmers? The farmers had approached Mulayam Singh Ji and Mayawati Ji. Did they help you? Did they open the doors of banks for you? Who helped you?”
“It was the Congress who helped you because we realize your strength as well as your difficulties. We are aware that the country cannot move forward without the farmers and workers” said Rahul Gandhi. When Congress makes policies, BJP, Mulayam Ji and Mayawati Ji ask from where we will have the money? informed the Congress leader. “This is your money; the money is the result of your hard work, your sweat and blood. We just give your money back to you” asserted Rahul Gandhi.
