Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while talking at various public rallies in Uttar Pradesh continued his tirade against Mayawati on corruption. The Congress leader took a potshot at BSP supremo and said that the magic elephant in Lucknow eats up currency notes as well as sugarcane and sugar mills.
Addressing a largely-attended election rally at Dr Rizvi Degree College in Karari, Rahul Gandhi held BSP responsible for the bad state of affairs in UP. "This Elephant eats grass as well as sugarcane and sugar mills," he commented sarcastically. Holding both Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party and BSP responsible for "UP's backwardness and rampant corruption", Rahul Gandhi said "while SP’s regime was marred by the police recruitment scam, the BSP government has looted the Central funds meant for public welfare ".
Rahul Gandhi promised that a Congress Government in Uttar Pradesh will ensure that progress is back in the state. The Congress General Secretary also assured that a pro-poor Congress Government in U.P will definitely bring back the lost glory of Uttar Pradesh and the state will again move forward as we experience in all the Congress ruled states.
