Mayawati exploiting Dalit sentiments for her narrow benefits: Rahul Gandhi

Blaming Mayawati for doing nothing for the welfare of the poor during the last five years, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said she is exploiting the sentiments of dalits and poor. She has been talking of dalits, poor and backward communities but has done nothing substantial for them, Rahul Gandhi said while campaigning for the ongoing Assembly elections. The way she has been functioning confirms that Mayawati is the biggest exploiter of sentiments of dalits.  She is ruling Uttar Pradesh with a feudal mindset and misused sentiments of dalits, he further said. She has been doling out cash to dalits and poor rather than undertaking schemes for their overall development.  Thus poor remain where they have been.   Even on all other fronts her BSP government has failed to address the problems being faced by dalits. Highlighting that Mayawati had failed to improve the lot of the poor and dalits, Rahul Gandhi urged the people not to trust her any more.  He appealed the people to vote for Congress (I) and assured that a government of the poor by Congress (I) will work for their welfare.
