Maya served herself, Congress serves people: Rahul Gandhi

Blaming Mayawati for following anti-poor and anti-people policies, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said that she remained busy in serving her own interest.  Congress (I) alone has been serving the people of UP while other parties have been only talking and making empty promises, Rahul Gandhi said while addressing a public meeting in Muzzafarnagar. Muzzafarnagar being famous for sugar cane farming he said, “In the land of sugarcane, there is bitterness all around.” Mayawati as well as Mulayam Singh Yadav have been putting out false promises to the people to snatch their votes but have done nothing for them during the last two decades, he further said. On the one hand she has been talking of helping the poor, on the other hand she has deprived them of jobs under central sponsored MGNREGA scheme and looted the money which central government sent for welfare of the poor. Similarly while NRHM scheme is meant to improve medicare services for the poor she has helped herself with that money. She talks about giving dignity to the poor and downtrodden but is opposing Food Security Bill which is meant to save the poor from starvation. Highlighting that people should get rid of Mayawati government, Rahul Gandhi urged them to vote for Congress (I) for its progressive pro-people policies.  He assured that Congress (I) will work for welfare of all.
