Attacking regional parties like BSP, SP and BJP for offering empty promises to the people during the last twenty two years, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said these parties utterly failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Uttar Pradesh. These parties centered their politics on their respective vote banks while in power instead of serving the masses, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing an election meeting in Soraon on February 11. Pointing out that while the youth of UP by their hard work had brought development in other states, why there is no such development in their own state, he asked the audience. This is because these parties treated the people as fool and kept making false promises to them, he further said and added that he respected the people and thus will not make empty promises like other parties. “I only want to say that it the people of UP and not the leaders who will change their destiny. The Congress (I) wants to unshackle your own hands to unleash your potential to develop UP as you have already done in other states,” he said. Highlighting that Congress (I) is determined to develop it the way it has developed Maharashtra and Delhi, Rahul Gandhi urged the people this time to vote for his party and assured that Congress (I) will change the face of the state and they will be able see the change in next five years.
