BJP blocked the constitutional Lokpal: Rahul Gandhi

Slamming BJP for preventing the Lokpal Bill from being passed in Parliament, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said BJP blocked the bill because that party is not interested to eradicate corruption from the country. During BJP-led NDA regime there were innumerable scams running into thousands of crores, he said.  BJP is only interested in slogans to mislead the people but has no inclination for result-oriented action, he further said and added “I advocated a strong constitutional Lokpal on the lines of the Election Commission. But they (BJP) defeated it in the Lok Sabha saying that it is Rahul Gandhi’s dream.”  Rahul Gandhi highlighted that “This is not only the dream of Rahul Gandhi but also that of the youth of this country.” “We will not rest without (achieving) it,” he told a public gathering in the poll bound state of UP.  He requested the people to discard the failed parties likes BJP, BSP and SP and vote for Congress (I) which would ensure progressive reforms and development of the state.
